Constable Lee Roy Gaitan saw the brilliant red orbs hovering in the sky and hollered for his family to come out.
It’s probably an airplane, said his wife, Wendy, who didn’t budge from the couch. Only 8-year-old Ryan went to the front yard.
That’s a UFO, the boy said.
Gaitan, who has spent 16 years patrolling the Texas scrubland, faced a bit of a dilemma. With an election coming up, he could tell the world of this incredible sight - and look like an idiot - or keep his mouth shut.
Gaitan woke up the next morning to learn that he wasn’t the only one who saw the strange red lights in the sky. Many Stephenville, TX residents saw them, too, including pilot Steve Allen. According to him, the lights were 3,000 miles overhead and looked like they were at the corners of something a mile long and a half mile wide.
Whatever it was, it was huge. Soon after, the media swarmed in, changing a town that called themselves The Cowboy Capital of the World to The UFO Capital of the World.
A tragic fire swept through the Rhoads Opera House in 1908, killing 170 people within minutes. The victims were buried a Fairview Cemetery in Berks County. Since then, police have responded to calls about horrifying screams and wailing, only to find the cemetery deserted when they arrive. Legend has it that those screams belong to over 150 souls who have yet to find peace after such an excruciating death.

Why did Gary McKinnon hack into 97 computer systems that belong to the Pentagon, NASA and the US military? He claimed that he wanted to find evidence that the US was covering up UFO encounters.
McKinnon hacked into Earle Naval Weapons Station in New Jersey shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The US government has indicted him and began its extradition proceedings in 2005. For some reason, the governments have not accused him of terrorist attacks. McKinnon faces 60 years in a US maximum security prison if he does not agree to a plea bargain and the prosecutors turn this into a terrorist case.
Medium Patrick Hutchinson was doing a live show in a pub when he received a message from the deceased grandmother of a 20 year-old woman in the audience. The grandmother told Hutchison that her granddaughter had been sexually abused a decade ago. As of the reading, the sex offender was still at large.
He was later identified as 61 year-old Terrance Dunstan, who had a prior record of sexually assaulting three girls between 1989 and 2004, after he had invited them into his home. In 2005, a judge ordered him to complete a community service program in lieu of going to jail.
It wasn’t until the granddaughter and two more victims pressed charges that the courts took his crimes more seriously. Dunstan received a five and a half year jail sentence yesterday, plus the lifelong obligation to register himself as a sex offender.
